The Model
The CLK GTR was born for one reason: to win. To compete in the FIA GT Championship, Mercedes-Benz needed a homologation special — a road car derived from its racing programme. Furthermore, the result was one of the most extreme road cars ever conceived. AMG developed the car in a matter of months, building it around a carbon fibre monocoque with a mid-mounted V12 engine. Moreover, the road-going version produced over 600 hp and shared its fundamental architecture directly with the cars that dominated the 1997 and 1998 GT championships. Mercedes built just 25 road-going examples to satisfy homologation requirements — 20 Coupés and 6 Roadsters. As a result, the CLK GTR remains one of the rarest and most exclusive cars the company has ever produced. At launch, it held the Guinness World Record as the most expensive production car ever built.

This Example
This CLK GTR is one of just 20 Coupés produced, finished in Silver over a black interior — a specification that reflects the car's status as a thoroughbred racing machine built for the road. Furthermore, the silver paintwork connects the car directly to the great Mercedes racing tradition — the Silver Arrows that defined motorsport across generations. As a result, this example stands as one of the most significant and uncompromising road cars of its era. A CLK GTR Coupé rarely appears on the open market, and an opportunity to acquire one represents a rare moment for any serious collector.

Inside, the CLK GTR makes no attempt to disguise its racing origins. The cabin is purposeful and focused, built around the same philosophy as the GT1 cars from which it was derived. Furthermore, every detail reflects the car's singular purpose — to translate the experience of a Le Mans-class racing car onto the public road. Moreover, the mid-mounted V12 sits directly behind the driver, delivering a soundtrack and sensation that few cars in history can match. The CLK GTR is not a grand tourer. It is a racing car with a number plate.
