The Model

The Ferrari 750 Monza

The Ferrari 750 Monza is one of the most successful and iconic sports racing cars of the 1950s. Introduced in 1954, it is highly celebrated for its distinctive aluminum spider bodywork, masterfully crafted by Sergio Scaglietti, which featured sinuous lines and a signature aerodynamic headrest bump. Unlike traditional Ferraris of the era, the 750 Monza was powered by a potent 3.0-liter 4-cylinder in-line engine designed by Aurelio Lampredi. This innovative engine delivered incredible torque and 250 hp, making the car exceptionally fast and agile. Thanks to its lightweight design (just 760 kg) and a perfect transaxle weight distribution, the 750 Monza dominated endurance races, securing a legendary 1-2 finish at its debut in Monza and becoming a true masterpiece of automotive history.

About this example

In the summer of 1955, this example proved exactly that. At Karlskoga, Gunnar Carlsson took victory in the Kanonloppet, writing the first chapter of a remarkable history. Subsequently, the car earned recognition in a museum collection, a testament to its significance in Ferrari racing history.

Decades on, this car has lost none of its standing. In 1995, it graced the lawns of the Cavallino Classic. This is one of the most respected Ferrari concours events in the world. Its presence there reflects exceptional condition and authenticity. Furthermore, in 1998 it returned to the track at the Coys International Historic Festival at Silverstone. Ferrari Classiche certified and additionally Mille Miglia eligible, it remains exactly what it was always meant to be: a racing Ferrari.

In Detail
