The Model
Isotta Fraschini built the Tipo 8A for royalty, heads of state and the world's elite. Indeed, it stood alongside Rolls-Royce and Hispano-Suiza as one of the great luxury automobiles of its era. The straight-eight engine was a landmark of engineering refinement. Furthermore, the Tipo 8A offered a smooth, effortless and dignified driving character unlike anything else of its time. It was not built for speed. Instead, it was built for grace, comfort and authority. Today, surviving examples are among the most sought-after pre-war automobiles in existence.

This Example
Stabilimenti Farina coachbuilt this example as an elegant inside-drive saloon. The red and black livery gives the car an immediate and commanding presence. Inside, beautifully executed wood marquetry lines the cabin, complemented by finely detailed brightwork and period-correct instrumentation. Moreover, the rear saloon offers a level of comfort and refinement that few cars of any era can match. The distinctive artillery wheels complete the silhouette with unmistakable character. Following a comprehensive restoration carried out in Italy, the car presents today in excellent condition throughout.

Power comes from Isotta Fraschini's legendary straight-eight engine. It delivers a smooth and effortless driving experience entirely in keeping with the car's character. Furthermore, among the many evocative details is a period tyre inflator powered by compressed air from the engine itself. It is a small but telling example of the technical sophistication that defined this era. This Tipo 8A is therefore more than a car. It is a rolling piece of history.
