The Model
The Lamborghini Miura S arrived just after the supercar had been invented, and Lamborghini had invented it. When the bare Miura chassis appeared at the 1965 Turin Motor Show, a V12 mounted transversely behind the driver was unheard of on a road car. A year later in Geneva, Bertone clothed it through the hand of a young Marcello Gandini, and the industry never looked back. Furthermore, the P400 S, introduced at Turin in 1968, refined the original without diluting it. It brought more power, a better-finished cabin and chrome detailing. Moreover, only 338 examples were built before the SV took over. As a result, a Lamborghini Miura S for sale is a genuine event, and the model remains the reference point for every mid-engined car that followed.

This Example
This 1969 Lamborghini Miura S, offered for private sale, is presented in white over a black interior. It is a restrained combination that lets Gandini's lines speak for themselves. Furthermore, the car has been restored, and it shows the clarity of form that made the Miura the defining shape of its decade. Details of the restoration and the accompanying documentation are available upon request. As a result, this car represents one of the most significant Lamborghinis ever built, in a timeless specification.

Inside, the black cabin of this Lamborghini Miura S reflects the improvements that defined the S series: power windows, upgraded trim and a more considered finish than the early P400. The low seating position and the overhead switch panel remain pure Miura. Behind the occupants sits the 3,929 cc V12, mounted transversely and fed by four triple-choke Weber carburettors. Furthermore, in S specification it produces 370 CV, sending power through a five-speed gearbox cast in unit with the engine. Moreover, that intake sound, inches from the driver's ears, remains one of the great mechanical experiences of the era. As a result, the S is often regarded as the purest balance of performance and refinement within the Miura line.
