The Model

The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster

The CLK GTR was born for one reason: to win. To compete in the FIA GT Championship, Mercedes-Benz needed a homologation special — a road car derived directly from its racing programme. Furthermore, the result was one of the most extreme road cars ever conceived. AMG built the car around a carbon fibre monocoque with a mid-mounted V12 producing over 600 hp, sharing its fundamental architecture with the cars that dominated the 1997 and 1998 GT championships. Moreover, Mercedes built just 20 Coupés and 6 Roadsters for road use. At launch, the CLK GTR held the Guinness World Record as the most expensive production car ever built. It remains one of the rarest and most uncompromising machines the company has ever produced.

This Example

About this example

The Roadster is the rarest expression of the CLK GTR. With just 6 examples built, it stands among the most exclusive open cars in automotive history. Furthermore, the open configuration transforms the experience entirely — placing the driver in direct contact with the extraordinary sound of the mid-mounted V12, unfiltered and immediate. This example is finished in Silver over a black interior, connecting it directly to the great Mercedes racing tradition — the Silver Arrows that defined motorsport across generations. Moreover, it has covered only a low mileage from new, presenting in exceptional condition throughout.

In Detail

The CLK GTR Roadster makes no attempt to disguise its origins. Every surface, every intake and every aerodynamic detail exists because the racing programme demanded it. Furthermore, the twin rollover hoops and purposeful stance give the Roadster a presence that few cars of any era can match. A CLK GTR Roadster appears on the open market only on the rarest of occasions. As a result, this represents one of the most significant opportunities available to any serious collector of modern racing machinery.
